Media

As a psychiatrist and creative, I focus on empathetic explorations of mental health in my clinical practice, media work, and personal life. During my medical studies, I interned at ABC News Medical Unit, realizing the need to bridge communication between medical professionals and the public. Recognizing the aging population, I pitched stories on cognitive approaches to preventing age-related diseases, adapting content for a fifth-grade comprehension level. In my residency, I collaborated with VICE, creating on-screen explanations of anxiety types for their “Shorties” series. As an MIT Open Documentary Fellow, I developed context-specific mental health content, contributing as a subject matter expert for Hulu.

The underrepresentation of psychiatry in the media perpetuates misconceptions about mental health. I believe in destigmatizing and reintegrating experiences through inclusive and dynamic dialogue. My goal is to translate confusion into meaningful narratives, fostering a compassionate and hopeful society where individuals navigate their mental health effectively.
